This is a beach that emulates the Caribbean; with no buildings or beach bars. It is located on the tiny island of Espalmador, only 200 metres away from Formentera with 3 kms of white sand and shallow waters. You can reach it by walking the long stretch or even by swimming to it but the most practical way is by taking a boat. If you choose the latter, trips are organised on a catamaran (sailing boat) which sets off from the port of La Sabina.
La playa de S'Alga is known for its long stretches of fine white sand, dunes and Phoenician juniper trees as well as its crystal-clear waters. One of the area’s most famous attractions is the mud baths which are said to be very beneficial for the skin. What’s more, the natural surroundings make this place the perfect spot for nudists. For reasons of safety and hygiene, animals are not allowed.
The beauty of this small island of Espalmador was actually what inspired Walt Disney to make Peter Pan.
